Sleep apnea is a disorder that affects how one breathes during sleep. CPAP machines are medical devices that supply a continuous flow of air as the person sleeps. This helps to keep the airways open and will allow the person with sleep apnea to be able to sleep through the night. It is through the use of these machines that people are able to learn to deal with the sleep apnea and are able to deal with the side effects of this sleep disorder.

Patients with sleep apnea often do not remember waking up numerous times during the night. All they know is that no matter how early they go to bed they still never feel rested. This is due to the constant sleep disruptions. However, the use of a CPAP machine can ensure that one is finally getting the sleep they need.
